Colorado public health goes hyperlocal, using microgrants to tackle vaccine hesitancy and stigma of mental illness
Nicole Weber, senior program manager, was interviewed for a February 8 Kaiser Health News/Denver Post story about the successes of the Metro Denver Partnership for Health (MDPH) ambassador programs. CHI acts as a convener, facilitator, and strategic advisor for MDPH and its programs.
“I would hear about the COVID vaccine concerns from our ambassadors before I would ever hear them in the media, really, because they had that immediate connection to the community,” said Weber. “The people who know how to make sure that messages and interventions are culturally relevant to the populations we serve, are those who work all the time in the community.”
