Nina Bastian
Senior Program Manager
Nina Bastian leads project teams for several of CHI’s regional and statewide health promotion and research initiatives. She brings stakeholders together across sectors, including public health, human services, and community-based, clinical, government, and business organizations. Nina joined CHI as a Program Manager in July 2019 after five months of freelance work with the organization. Now a Senior Program Manager, she facilitates and coordinates work in our climate and health portfolio, as well as projects related to implementing or improving statewide programs and tools.
Nina’s health care journey began in outcomes and clinical research at Geisinger Health System in Danville, Pennsylvania. She spent a decade at Mount Sinai Health System in New York, New York in different roles in medical education and Mount Sinai's Delivery System Reform Incentive Payment (DSRIP) program, the New York state Medicaid reform effort. In her role as Director of DSRIP Operations, she led financial and personnel operations, program reporting, and partner relations throughout the implementation of population health projects across Mount Sinai and 85 partnering clinical and community-based organizations.
Nina graduated cum laude in mathematics and magna cum laude in economics from the University of Maryland, College Park. You might see her biking or cruising on her scooter around Denver, where she lives with her partner and two meow meows, Peanut Butter and Ziggy Stardust. She keeps busy planning for Camp ENERGY — a youth fitness, nutrition, and healthy lifestyle summer camp in Pennsylvania.
